What We Believe
Come as you are. It doesn't matter to us what your circumstances are, who you are or where you've been, you matter to God. We believe you'll find authentic people who love God and each other. We are all imperfect, saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We're glad you are here.
We believe the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original writings, and the final authority for belief and practice.
We believe in one God, Creator and Sustainer of the universe, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, equal in every divine attribute and performing distinct but harmonious roles.
We believe in Jesus, the Messiah, God’s eternal Son who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, and is fully God and fully human. Jesus lived a sinless life, was crucified and died for sin, was buried, and rose bodily from the grave. He ascended to the Father, intercedes on behalf of His people, and awaits His glorious return.
We believe the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, is fully God. He draws sinful people to salvation and at conversion regenerates, indwells, and baptizes believers into the Body of Christ. The Holy Spirit empowers and equips Christians to grow in holiness and live faithful lives of love and service to God and their fellow humans.
We believe every person is made in the image of God, but since humanity’s fall is a sinner by nature and choice. We believe humans are incapable of fixing their fallen condition and need a Savior.
We believe there is only one way of salvation through the completed work of Jesus on the cross. Salvation is a gift given by God’s grace alone and received through faith in Jesus. Salvation cannot be earned through moral or religious works or rituals. Salvation is not merely a “ticket to heaven,” but a dynamic, loving relationship with God that results in righteous living. Salvation includes the redeeming of all creation and the ultimate triumph of God’s vision for the world He created.
We believe the Church is made up of all who have received God’s gift of salvation, with Jesus as its foundation. The universal Church finds its tangible expression in local churches around the world that work for the advancement of God’s Kingdom. The ordinances of the local church are believer’s baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
We believe in the visible, public, and glorious return of Jesus to judge the living and the dead and to redeem all of creation. We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people. Those who have trusted Jesus as Lord and Savior will live in eternal joy and rest with God in the new creation. Those who have rejected Jesus will suffer eternal judgment as a result of God giving them over to their own desire to be their own god and satisfy their own desires.
