Staying Alive Short Term Missions Trip

Madrid, Spain // October 10-18, 2017

We have a great opportunity lined up to experience the work of God outside the U.S. and to grow deeper in our discipleship to Jesus while serving those in need in Madrid, Spain. At the same time, we will build connections among the Staying Alive community as we seek to strengthen the link between Lincoln Berean Church and the country of Spain.

The short term missions team will be working with Serve the City (STC). STC was founded by Warren and Karen Batt in 2012 with a twofold intention: First, in obedience to Jesus, to mobilize the Church to care for the physical needs of Madrid’s most vulnerable populations. Second, STC encourages believers and non-believers alike to serve, to allow the act of serving to provide evangelistic opportunities among the service teams themselves. Best estimates would indicate that less than 1% of Spain (and Madrid) identify as Evangelicals. Of those who do identify, many are already churched immigrants from Latin America. This means that among Spaniards, it is estimated that the Evangelical population is 0.1% of the total population.

All participants will be required to attend 3-4 meetings in September to prepare for the missions trip. The estimated cost of the trip is around $2000 - $2400.
