How To Keep From Stumbling

Jesus is giving His last teaching to His disciples before He's to be arrested and crucified. His disciples are fearful and hurting and in the midst of that He tells them, “You're going to be hated and persecuted!” Now that raises an interesting question: They're already stressed out enough; why would you tell them that?
